Nigel Ng, the Malaysian comedian behind Uncle Roger, publishes his first cookbook on Tuesday 3 November 2026. Don't Mess Up Your Rice: 70 Recipes to Impress Uncle Roger comes out in the UK from Gallery UK and in the US from Simon Element, both Simon & Schuster imprints. He wrote it with Jenn Garbee, and Gordon Ramsay wrote the foreword.

Uncle Roger became famous for his critiques of Western chefs cooking Asian food, most famously Jamie Oliver's, so the book starts with a chapter called Fry Rice. It has Uncle Roger's Egg Fry Rice and his Special Fry Rice. The noodle chapter has Pad Thai, Niece Tway's Pho and Ramen, and a chapter called Other Dishes Uncle Roger Craves includes Chicken Satay and Real Sweet and Sour Pork. The sweets chapter has Red Bean Soup, Bubur Cha Cha and fresh watermelon juice.

Simon & Schuster says it also covers using a rice cooker and a wok, choosing chillies, pounding spices, shopping at Asian grocery stores and why MSG is the king of flavour. In the foreword, Ramsay says that if you cook the recipes correctly, "you won't get slated by a YouTuber".

Simon & Schuster says Ng has more than 31 million followers across platforms. He runs two restaurants, Kawan by Uncle Roger in London and FUIYOH! It's Uncle Roger in Malaysia, and he lives in Los Angeles.

The US hardcover is 240 pages at $32.50. Simon & Schuster lists the UK edition at 224 pages, with the ebook at £11.99, and links to UK booksellers from its page.
