Possible Love, the new film from Korean director Lee Chang-dong, streams on Netflix around the world from Thursday 6 November 2026. Netflix says it's his first release in eight years. His last film was Burning, and before that came Poetry and Secret Sunshine.

It's the story of two married couples. Mi-ok (Jeon Do-yeon) lives quietly with her husband Ho-seok (Sul Kyung-gu), who has been laid off, and their young son Cheol. A funeral brings them into the orbit of Ye-ji (Cho Yeo-jeong), a documentary filmmaker who is making a film about laid-off workers, and her husband Sang-woo (Zo In-sung). The second couple are much better off. Mi-ok agrees to be filmed and grows close to Ye-ji, and she also finds herself drawn to Sang-woo, who is hard to read.

Netflix put out the final trailer on 20 October. It opens with Mi-ok singing the line "All I Know is Love", and later Ye-ji suggests the two couples go on holiday together.

The film has already been shown at festivals. Netflix's announcement quotes David Ehrlich at IndieWire, who gave it an A and called it "a heart-stopping stunner from Lee Chang-dong", and Jessica Kiang at Variety, who called it "a shimmering, sonorous work from one of our greatest living directors". The Hollywood Reporter's David Canfield called it "the film of the year".

You can watch it with a Netflix subscription in the UK, the US and everywhere else Netflix streams.
