Gashapon Plans a World Tour and a Capsule the Size of a Fist
Bandai's capsule-toy brand marks its run-up to a 2027 50th anniversary with more North American shops, a world tour from January, and a new machine for 100mm capsules.
Bandai used an 8 October presentation in Japan to sketch Gashapon's next decade under the slogan WE ARE GASHAPON. The brand turns 50 in 2027.
Overseas shops already span the UK, the US and much of Asia. Bandai says it will push North America harder and plans a first South American shop in Brazil. From January 2027, GASHAPON WORLD TOUR ~ HELLO! WE ARE GASHAPON ~ starts in the Philippines (SM Megamall, 9 to 17 January), then Korea, with the US and Europe listed among later stops.
A new machine, GASHAPON STATION 100, takes capsules up to 100mm across, with matching products due from August 2027. BANDAI SPIRITS' Chogokin line is also building a transforming Gashapon Station Robot; price and date are still to come. The mejirushi accessory line, Bandai says, has now shipped more than 200 million units worldwide.
You can already turn the handle at Gashapon Bandai Official Shop counters in the UK (including Camden and Birmingham Cross Store) and across the US. The tour dates and the giant capsules are the new bit.
