Devils' Crest, the TV anime of Reki Kawahara's Demons' Crest novels, premieres worldwide on Amazon Prime Video on Friday 6 November 2026. Kawahara is best known for Sword Art Online, and this is another story set inside a game.
Yen Press publishes the novels in English, and its description sets it up. A VRMMORPG called Actual Magic seals a whole class of sixth graders in a game of life or death. One classmate has been turned into a monster, and the only help eleven-year-old Yuuma has is Valac, a demon who has possessed his twin sister. With Valac guiding them, Yuuma and his friends go looking for their missing friend Nagi.
Production I.G is making the series. Shinji Ushiro, whose work includes Yo-kai Watch, is chief director, and Kenichirō Komaya directs. Eiji Umehara, who wrote scripts for Re:ZERO, oversees the scripts, and the novels' illustrator Yukiko Horiguchi designs the characters. Yūki Hayashi, composer for My Hero Academia and Haikyu!!, writes the music with Naoyuki Chikatani.
Ado sings the opening theme, "Shinka" (Evolution), and Soala sings the ending theme, "ReaL". Haruka Shiraishi voices Yuma Ashihara and Konomi Inagaki voices Sawa Ashihara.
Kawahara started the novels in November 2022. Yen Press released the third volume in English in December 2025, and there's also a vertical-scrolling manga adaptation.
