Yeon Sang-ho's Paradise Lost opens in US cinemas on Friday 6 November through Well Go USA, a little over two weeks after its Korean release on 21 October.

Well Go USA's synopsis has So-young, a mother whose son vanished in a bus kidnapping nine years earlier, coping through alternate reality technology. Then he comes back as a cold adult stranger, and she is caught between the man in front of her and the virtual child who still needs her. Kim Hyun-joo and Bae Hyeon-seong star. It runs 101 minutes, in Korean with English subtitles.

Yeon made Train to Busan and Peninsula, and Deadline notes that his Colony played out of competition at Cannes this year. CJ ENM, which is selling the film, says Paradise Lost has gone to 118 countries after sold-out screenings at Toronto and Busan. Its US premiere comes first, in the Hawaii International Film Festival's Spotlight on Korea section on 1 and 4 November.

CJ ENM's release list also has Taiwan on 23 October, Singapore on 5 November, Vietnam on 6 November and Indonesia on 13 November. Deadline names The Jokers Films for France and Twin for Japan among the buyers, and its list doesn't include a UK distributor.

CJ ENM says the film's international sales have already passed its net production budget.
