The Straw Hats Open Their First US Shop in Los Angeles, and Chopper Has Taken Up Surfing
Toei Animation's official ONE PIECE MUGIWARA STORE opens at Westfield Century City on 6 November, with LA-only stock and reservation-only entry for the first week.
Opens Fri 6 Nov (reservations for 6 to 12 Nov)

The ONE PIECE MUGIWARA STORE, Toei Animation's official shop for Eiichiro Oda's pirate saga, opens its first US branch on Friday 6 November at Westfield Century City in Los Angeles. Toei is running it with Sony Group.
Entry is by reservation only for the first week, 6 to 12 November, booked through the "Reserve Priority Entry" section of the store's website. Toei says those dates may change, so the store's Instagram and X accounts are the place to check.
Much of the stock is exclusive to Los Angeles. A clothing line called Chopper Surf Club, with artwork of Chopper on a surfboard, covers T-shirts, hoodies, a cropped sweatshirt and an enamel mug. There is also an I Love LA tee, a California licence plate design and an Enies Lobby hoodie.
Pieces shipped over from Japan include Toei Animation Collection figures of Gear 5 Luffy and Harajuku Chopper, and Devil Fruit furoshiki wrapping cloths patterned after the Gum-Gum, Op-Op, Flame-Flame, Flower-Flower and Human-Human fruits. Prices haven't been published.
Inside, a Los Angeles-only Surfer Chopper talks to shoppers as they browse, wanted posters of various characters turn up around the shop, and there is video you can only watch in store. A limited number of opening shopping bags will be given away, and ten Mugiwara Stores in Japan will run a giveaway fair from 6 November to mark the occasion.
The shop is on Level 2 of the mall at 10250 Santa Monica Blvd, open from 10am Monday to Saturday, until 9pm Monday to Thursday and 10pm on Fridays and Saturdays.
