Shannon Lee and Fonda Lee Bring Breathmarked to a Close With Mark of the Warrior
Mark of the Warrior, the second and final Breathmarked novel by Bruce Lee's daughter Shannon Lee and fantasy author Fonda Lee, is out in the UK and US on Tuesday 27 October.
Out Tue 27 Oct (UK and US)

Mark of the Warrior finishes the martial-arts fantasy that Shannon Lee and Fonda Lee started with Breath of the Dragon, which was an instant New York Times bestseller. It comes out on Tuesday 27 October from Hodder & Stoughton in the UK and Wednesday Books in the US.
Shannon Lee looks after her father's legacy as CEO of the Bruce Lee Family Companies and chair of the Bruce Lee Foundation. Fonda Lee wrote the Green Bone Saga, has won the World Fantasy Award and holds a black belt. Reviewers of the first book kept coming back to how much of Bruce Lee's philosophy runs through it, and the copyright on the new one is held by Bruce Lee Enterprises.
The story picks up after the Guardian's Tournament. Li Jun has been exiled as a traitor and has promised his dying father that he'll get back the stolen Scroll of Heaven and find his mother and his twin brother, Sai. He heads east with his old rival Yin Yue, depending on two breathmarked women who answer to the Council of Virtue, the same council that split his family up ten years earlier. Sai is now the High Keeper of the Sun Pagoda, and his job is to guard the Scroll of Earth from anyone who comes for it. That includes Jun.
The publishers call it the explosive finale, and the book is pitched at teenage readers, with Macmillan listing it for ages 13 to 18. Kiuyan Ran painted the cover, as she did for the first book.
In the UK it's a £25 hardcover. In the US the hardcover is $22, and there's a digital audiobook as well. If you're in San Francisco, both authors will be talking with Andrea Stewart at Book Passage in the Ferry Building on Wednesday 28 October at 6pm. Entry is free, and there's a signing afterwards.
