Ibanez Gives Dragon Ball Z Its Own Guitar Range, and Piccolo Gets a Piccolo Guitar
The Japanese guitar maker's Dragon Ball Z collaboration runs to more than ten items, from a Made in Japan RG to a Tube Screamer pedal, and reaches Ibanez dealers worldwide from early 2027.
Ibanez, the guitar brand owned by Nagoya's Hoshino Gakki, has announced a Dragon Ball Z collaboration of more than ten items. Someone on the team clearly could not resist the joke, because the range includes a piccolo guitar, a small guitar tuned higher than standard, with Piccolo's Demon symbol across the body.
The top model is a Made in Japan guitar from the RG series, Ibanez's long-running shred line since 1987. Its artwork shows Goku and Gohan flying across the body, and it comes with a hardshell case carrying a special design plate, a certificate of authenticity, and its own strap and picks.
For newer players, Hoshino Gakki lists a simpler electric guitar themed on the moment Goku first turns Super Saiyan, plus a matching bass for Vegeta's transformation. Both have a slim maple neck and a single humbucker pickup, and the company pitches them as easy to play at any level.
The rest of the line-up includes a concert ukulele with Kame House and the Flying Nimbus on it, a gig bag in the colours of the Kame School uniform, two straps, and a set of seven picks featuring Goku, Gohan, Piccolo, Vegeta, Frieza, Cell and Buu. There is also a special edition of the TS808 Tube Screamer, the overdrive pedal Ibanez is best known for, with its indicator light styled as the One-Star Dragon Ball.
Prices have not been announced. According to Hoshino Gakki's press release, the range goes on sale from early 2027 through authorised Ibanez dealers in Japan and in countries and regions around the world, with details to follow on the Ibanez website and social accounts.
